How To Grow Your Natural Hair Longer And Thicker

There are many reasons why you may experience thinning or damaged hair. Some common reasons are hormones, medications, nutrition deficiencies. Sometimes making changes to your diet by adding the vitamins and minerals needed for healthy hair can be enough. If not there are several other ways to enhance the health of the hair and grow your natural hair longer and thicker including tea rinses, oils and supplements. Tea Rinses

If you are experiencing excessive hair shedding adding a tea rinse to your routine will help stop the shedding and give you thicker hair. Tea has many nutrients that can increase hair growth naturally while adding moisture and shine.This is a natural remedy that works fairly quickly. You make the tea rinse by simply adding 8oz of hot water to black or green tea, whichever you prefer. Let the tea sit until it’s cool then remove the tea bag and add the tea water to a spray bottle or application bottle. There are several ways you can use the tea rinse, one way is after shampooing apply it directly onto the scalp, let it sit for about fifteen minutes rinse it out and then deep condition as normal. Another option is to spray on hair as a refresher for your curls. You should notice results in about two weeks.

Castor oil

Castor oil is a thick oil that’s rich in fatty acids. It thickens the hair and increases the growth rate. Apply oil to your scalp and hair twice a day for better length retention. It can also be added to your deep conditioner for even more hydration. This oil is good for anyone with alopecia, thin hair and hair loss. Sealing the oil on the ends of the hair will help lock in the moisture and retain more length.

Supplements

A diet rich in the proper nutrition is necessary for healthy hair above everything. If you are deficient in any of the vitamins needed for healthy hair you may benefit from a supplement. Some supplements that are great for healthy hair are:

Saw Palmetto

Saw palmetto is considered an alternative remedy to treat hair loss. It is thought to block DHT which is the molecule responsible for hair loss. It works similar to prescriptions for hair loss.

Iron

Iron is essential to healthy hair and growth. When you have low iron levels or anemia this can affect the growth phase of the hair, leading to hair loss.

Zinc

Zinc helps with hair growth and repair. In addition, it’s an anti-inflammatory that protects the oil glands and hair follicles. Hair loss has been shown to be a common symptom of zinc deficiency. When the body doesn’t have enough zinc it causes the hair follicles to not work properly. A zinc supplement can help reduce hair loss.  

MSM sulfur

Msm is a sulfur chemical found in plants, animals, and humans. It has anti-inflammatory properties that protect the scalp and help with hair growth. MSM creates stronger bonds throughout the hair extending the Anagen phase, which is the active growth phase of the hair cycle.
